Happy Election Day!

Well, here we are! Last night I felt like a kid on Christmas Eve; I could hardly go to sleep. I've already been out this morning to cast my vote, and I'm not ashamed to say that I voted for Obama. When I got back home, I checked into electoral-vote.com, to see how the electoral map was shaping up. It's changed a little bit from last week, but not in very significant ways. Last week the map was showing a predicted 375 electoral votes for Obama and 157 for McCain. Today Obama is down to a paltry 353 as opposed to McCain's 174.Even with four states on the East Coast, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina and Florida, looking only slightly blue, they could still go for McCain and Obama would win. But I'm hopeful that by the end of the day, that they'll all do the right thing and turn completely blue and my real pie-in-the-sky wish is that Arizona will vote for Obama (right now it's leaning barely GOP, which is pretty funny when you consider that McCain is one of our senators).

It's an exciting day to be an American and I know that because I live in Arizona, there won't really be any election news for another nine hours or so, but I'm hopeful that America will do the right thing.

Monday

Good Night and Good Luck!

Here we are on the eve of what most are calling the most significant election of a century. In the United States, we have black mayors, we have black governors and black senators and representatives. For the first time, we have the potential for a black President. Whether or not we, the citizens of the United States of America, can rise above our pettiness and actually elect a black president will be seen tomorrow. At this time of night, the campaigning is all over. It's all up to the voters now. Tomorrow will be an interesting day.

Goodnight!
